WHAT IS OPERA MUDA?

 

We came to the conclusion that the majority of the audience doesn’t really understand what they are listening to. Due to the fact that the context in which the music is performed isn’t the same, most musical gestures have been lost over time.

 

So in this way, theatricalizing, we are trying to contextualize the music. Putting ‘subtitles’ in a way that the audience understands every musical gesture, so that they can understand and enjoy the music with us.

 

There still has to be done a lot of improving, exploring and experimenting. But we feel that the way of giving concerts has standardized too much and we are looking for a different format. We are not only looking for more interaction with our existing audience, but we also want to attract a different kind of audience. In our audience we would love to see some younger people or people that do not necessarily know a lot about music.
